CPN Election Central

Case Study

Following the amendment to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation constitution in 2007, legislative districts were created throughout the United States and within the State of Oklahoma for the continued governance of the tribe. As a result, elections had to be held to fill those newly created representative seats. It was then decided that a dedicated website would be created to assist in the dissemination of information for these special elections.

The website was developed using HTML and CSS, without a content management system. This was the chosen approach due to the speed and efficiency of production and the need for rapid deployment. Given the time sensitive nature of the situation, the website needed to be launched within days of initiation. Once the website was developed, SEO best practices were implemented and the site was submitted for crawl to the major search engines. The website was crawled within a week and was then accessible to search engine query.

Note: The original website has since been taken offline following the conclusion of the initial cycle of representative elections. The website can be made available by request in archival form.
