Just for fun and to keep practicing design skills, we occasionally play around with Photoshop, Illustrator, or other production software. Sometimes this practice can yeild some interesting results. In the gallery below we have added some of the noteable graphic creations that have come from these practice sessions.

Digital Document Conversion

The best example we can provide to show the importance of digital document conversion is in a project we collaborated on in which the goal of this project was to digitally scan the entire tribal newspaper (How Ni Kan) archive for a Native American goverment by using a large format scanner. Then take those digital scans, create a searchable online archive. The scope of this task was to scan ever page of every paper from 1971 to 2004. This consisted of 3,389 total pages. This project took many months to complete, but the results were outstanding. Below you will find a few examples of the results of this project.

Desktop Publishing

Desktop publishing encompasses a large variety of printed media. Some examples of the type of media we have produced that fall under this category are brochures, annual reports, novels, and formal invitations. These projects are typically produced at high resolution. Below you will find a selection of desktop publishing projects that we have produce. These examples are displayed here at low resolution for speed and efficiency purposes. Therefore some of these examples may not appear as clear and crisp online as they would in production.

Cattlemen's Exchange: This brochure was produced as an exhibition of desktop publishing for educational purposes.	Building Native Businesses: This brochure was produced for the Citizen Potawatomi Community Development Corp. to promote native business.

Buy Potawatomi Business Directory 2005: This booklet was produced for the CPCDC. The goal was to provide a directory of all the Citizen Potawatomi Naton member owned or operated businesses throughout the US. This was the 2005 edition. The images in the gallery below were created to be used as a computer desktop background/wallpaper or to be used as full size posters. They vary in subject matter and composition. Some were created by using some of our best photography, others were created using graphic design software, or a combination of the two. Vectorization

Vectorization is the process of taking a bitmap or raster image and converting in to vector format, allowing that image to then be expanded or contracted in infinite dimensions without loss in quality. This process can be especially useful in creating designs for billboards or for creating high resolution graphics for high quality printing projects. The gallery below shows a few of the vectorization projects that we have worked on.

Image Correction

Printed photographs age and over time begin to deteriorate. There are photo restoration techniques that can be used to restore the quality of old photographs. Or sometimes there may be an element within an image that you want to remove or modify. The technique used to remedy that is image correction. In the gallery below you will find numerous examples of pictures that have been modified using either the photo restoration or image correction technique.
